  • 2 cups Maine Grains Cornmeal
  • 1 1/21/2 cups Buttermilk
  • 1/4 cups Veg Oil
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Cast Iron Skillet

Method

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees
  • Whisk together the cornmeal, buttermilk, oil and egg
  • Heat skillet in oven - add butter to hot skillet swirling to coat the pan and sides
  • Pour the batter into the hot skillet
  • Bake until golden brown - 25-30 minutes
  • EAT!
